Double Bill!

The Cold River Ranters & Black Jack Crossing

Mole Hill Theater
789 Gilsum Mine Road
Alstead, New Hampshire.

Celebrate Winter Concert & Feast will begin at 6:30 PM with a pot luck feast.  Please bring a dish to share.  Music will begin at 7:30 PM.  Donations for the theater and the bands will be gratefully accepted.

The Cold River Ranters, based in Keene, N.H., play their own brand of “hot gonzo primitive folk jive” encompassing everything from old time songs and world music to classic rock and their own compositions, all performed with high energy and in inimitable style. Think Tom Waits, think Van Morrison, think a truly unique band.

Blackjack Crossing,  based in Brattleboro, Vt., is made up of veterans of the area’s folk-Americana-bluegrass scene. Using a traditional five-piece bluegrass format (standup bass, guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle) the band performs pre-bluegrass tunes through Bill Monroe to contemporary artists including the SteelDrivers, Gillian Welch and Steve Earle. Throw in some originals, shake and you’ve got a band that offers something for everyone.
Both bands will be adding some seasonal tunes to the mix to add to the celebration.  All welcome!
