New England Youth Theater, Brattleboro, VT.
Nightingale, annual crowd pleasers at Brattleboro Last Night celebrations, will be having an album release concert at the New England Youth Theater in Brattleboro, on Friday, April 2. Their most recent recording, Jolie, was officially released in January, with a special pre-release in December. The album reflects the breadth and depth of the band’s musical prowess – a powerhouse of rhythmic energy combined with sweeping arrangements of breathtaking finesse. Their repertoire of traditional and composed tunes and songs performed in English and French draws on the musical heritage of New England, Maritime Canada, and Northern Europe. Described as “sublime, sumptuous, entrancing” (Brattleboro Reformer), Jolie captures the energy of the band in peak form. With Becky Tracy (fiddle), Jeremiah McLane (accordion and piano) and Keith Murphy (guitar, mandolin, foot percussion and song).
Nightingale will perform selections from the new CD as well as old favorites of fans. The concert begins at 8pm at NEYT, 100 Flat St in Brattleboro. Tickets available at Maple Leaf Music, reservations and information at firstname.lastname@example.org. Advance tickets, $15; Students and seniors, $12; $17 at the door.
