We urge all those who receive this message to help get the word out to their colleagues and contacts.

This was not an easy decision. In order to be effective, advocacy must respond strategically to an ever-changing political environment. It now appears that the timing for this event is inopportune. Sing Out NH! was always intended to be a positive celebration of the arts in New Hampshire. However, at a time of delicate legislative negotiations over the FY 2011 State budget, our lobbyist and advisers felt that there was a danger of its being misinterpreted and therefore counterproductive.

Although disappointing to us all, we believe that canceling the event for now is the only prudent course. Our goal is to find an appropriate time to bring us together with a positive message about the power and value of the arts. Sing Out NH! will be rescheduled when the timing is more favorable. Many people contributed tremendous creativity and hard work in planning this wonderful event. We will use it all in the future.

Meanwhile, NH Citizens for the Arts will continue to post frequent updates on the budget process as well as timely Action Alerts on our website, www.nhcfa.org. We encourage you to sign up to receive these alerts, as well as other advocacy news. Our goal is, as always, to support the arts.

Please help spread the word out about the cancellation of Sing Out NH! And thank you for all that you do on behalf of the arts!

The Board of NH Citizens for the Arts and the Sing Out NH! Coordinating Committee.
