Monadnock Region’s own Cold River Ranters invite you to the celebration of the release of their new CD, Corn Bread Soaked in Kerosene.
The Cold River Ranters pride themselves in mixing unexpected combinations of acoustic instruments on both traditional and original tunes, inspired by music from the Appalachian Mountains, Ireland, the British Isles, Brittany, tribal Africa, the Himalayas, the Caribbean and from folk dance music from the black South. This, along with their hard-hitting spirit, mixes into what the band describes as “Hot Gonzo Primitive Folk Jive”.
The new disc was “recorded in the living room with a couple of dogs curled up on the floor, cornbread in the oven and a pot of chili warming up on the old Round Oak parlor stove”. And it’s guaranteed to keep you dancing around the kitchen all night.
You are invited to celebrate the release of Corn Bread Soaked in Kerosene on Saturday, September 11 at Mole Hill Theater in Gilsum, New Hampshire. Festivities begin at 6:30 PM with steaming pots of chili and several variations of cornbread. Music will be made by Two Heads, a foot-stomping folk duo from Ontario, Canada; Rise!, an all-acoustic band that blends traditional bluegrass instruments and sounds with a jam-jazz sensibility; and The Cold River Ranters.
All this, plus a free CD, will only cost a $ 10 admission fee ( $20 for families). Please bring your own beverage.
Mole Hill Theater is located at 789 Gilsum Mines Road in Gilsum, NH. For information and directions please contact email@example.com or 603 209-7926
