Caller Mary WestleyThe Monadnock Folklore Society presents the Peterborough First Saturday Contra Dance on September 1st, featuring Mary Wesley calling with Rodney Miller, Skip Gorman, Bob McQuillen and Gordon Peery.

The theme of the night is Old and New. A fine selection of Chestnut dances will be interspersed among more modern contras. Expect Money Musk and Chorus Jig. Go to http://www.facebook.com/peterboroughcontra and post your favorites on the Wall for consideration.

In keeping with the theme, members of the next generation of musicians will mount the stage for the second half of the night.

Dancing begins at 8:00 PM, with a short workshop beforehand. Beginners and singles are welcome and all dances are taught throughout the evening. Admission is $8 or $6 for students and seniors.
