Nuala Kennedy, Irish singer, flute and whistle player, has been taking the country by storm. Her brilliant flute playing and evocative singing spring from the traditional music of Ireland (where she grew up) and Scotland (where she studied) and from her bottomless imagination. Consummate performer with great on-stage joie-de-vivre, her music takes the audience on a soul-satisfying journey. There is great expressiveness to Nuala’s singing and moodiness in the accompanying instrumentals. Flanked by guitarist Kyle Sanna and fiddler Dana Lyn, the trio ranges from in-the-pocket traditional tunes to sassy and adventurous explorations with surprising harmonic changes, range of textures and the occasional colorful, electronic effect. All three musicians are gifted musicians and performers who delight and inspire their audiences and who have received a rapturous response from audience and press.
