☼ ☼ ☼ Nelson Second Saturday Contra Dance

The Monadnock Folklore Society presents the Nelson Second Saturday Contra Dance on January 11th, featuring Don Primrose with Heathen Creek.

Caller Don Primrose from Sullivan, NH, is well-known for his able guidance of the weekly Monday night dance in Nelson. He is also the founder of the Hundred Nights Shelter in Keene, NH.

heathencreek2.jpgA New England-based group, Heathen Creek has played around the region. They are known for their inventive compositions and exciting musical arrangements. Heathen Creek are Maia Rutman on fiddle, Mark Koyama playing mandolin and Pete Johannsen on guitar.

Dancing begins at 8:00 PM, with a short workshop beforehand. Beginners and singles are welcome and all dances are taught throughout the evening. Admission is $8 or $6 for students and seniors.
