Playing the first set will be the wonderful band River Road. This trio, comprised of Sarah-Hadley Yakir on fiddle; Kristen Planeaux on piano, accordion, and flute; and Jesse Ball on mandolin, guitar, and foot percussion bring virtuosic precision and soulful depth to highly arranged original fiddle repertoire. In other words, they are awesome and much fun to dance to.

The second set will feature the Mean Lids, who are traveling to town for a couple of dances over the weekend (including Saturday night the 23rd in Greenfield, Mass). Last seen locally at this year’s Dance Flurry, the Mean Lids are Ben Smith on fiddle, Miriam Larson on flute and jaw-harp, and Matt Turino on guitar and fiddle. Appalachian grooves and Irish melodies mix with a modern, Midwestern sensibility in the music of this trio, featuring original, joyful dance tunes and wistful waltzes. We are so glad to host them for this dance!

Our calling duo, from Northern Vermont, will be Mary Wesley and Adina Gordon. They are two of the most popular and well-traveled callers and will share a varied program and the most joyful calling.
